Girl Scouts in the Community
Community Outreach Programs nurture the self-confidence and creativity that the young girls need to grow into successful adults. Girls benefit from a special curriculum designed to encourage the exploration of the world around them. They learn to believe in themselves, and they improve their problem-solving and self-directed learning skills - skills that help them become tomorrow's leaders. These programs help to break the cycle of poverty and its detrimental impact on girls.G.R.I.P Program
Girls Reaching Imaginative Places (GRIP) – The GRIP program consists of weekly staff run troop meetings held in subsidized housing communities. Participants earn badges and participate in field trips that focus on healthy relationships and leadership. The GRIP program serves over 200 girls annually.
